Creating a design language for Deutsche Bank

The problem

There is no overarching design guidelines at Deutsche Bank and as their digital products are going through a period of change, there is a risk that this could lead to an inconsistent user experience. Our challenge was to develop a design language to unify Deutsche Bank's digital experience.

How we solved it

Our research of Deutsche Bank's history led us to our solution. We called the design language “Deutsche Bauhaus”, which was inspired by the German design movement from 1919. We created a website that featured six design principles. The aim of these principles was to guide the designs at a high level. Practical guidelines and resources are available under the Toolkit section.
